英語Ⅶ試験対策

１月試験も今週末に近づきましてさすがに焦っているわけです。

出来たら、今回の試験で英語とはおさらばしたい！と言うことで・・・真面目に少し勉強しなくてはならないのですが、、、現実は難しい（＞＜）

一応軽くまとめて見ました！

Deciding against a bilingual upbringing
バイリンガルに育てないことを決めるということ

When I phoned pleple and asked if I could interview them about their experience of bringing up their children in a bilingual home environment, the answerwould sometimes be: ‘Yes, but my children are not bilingual.’
私がバイリンガル育児と家庭環境に関する電話インタビューを依頼すると、「いいけど、私の子どもたちはバイリンガルではないですよ」という答えがしばしばあった。

I would then explain that I was not only intersted in the ‘success stories,’ but in all the experiences of the parents concerned, whether or not they had brought up their children with two languages.
私は、「成功話」だけに興味があるのではなくて、バイリンガルに育児をしたかどうかにかかわらず、親のすべての体験に興味があることを説明した。

It subsequently apperared that people were very willing to talk about their reasons for not going through with a bilingual upbringing for the offspring.
すると、何人かの人たちはバイリンガルに育てないことの理由を快く説明してくれることが分かった。

So before we discuss how children can become bilingual, let us first have a look at how and why some parents have decided against a upbilinging.

How do parents choose what is important when bringing up children?

Well, they all have different childhood memories, they all reach parenthood via many different routes and for many different reasons,and they all expect different things form life.
親はみんな違う子どもの頃の思い出をもち、様々な過程を経て親になるのであり、色々な理由によって、人生に求めるものはおのずと違ってくる。

All these things influence the way parents raise their children,and the bilimgual upbringing is only one of the many aspects about which parents have to make up their mainds.
これら全てのことが育児に反映されるのであり、バイリンガル育児をするかどうかは、親が子育てにおいて決めなくてはならないことのほんの一部である。

By looking at some of the decisions against a bilimgual upbringing and trying to find out more about the reasons behind those decisions, I feel new parents will then be able to make an informed and responsible choice.
バイリンガル育児を選ばなかった親とその決定の背後にあるものをみていくことによって、新しい親たちは、説明を受けた上で、より責任ある選択をできるようになる、と私は思う。
